Hit points, or HP, are amount of damage a unit or building can take before it is killed or destroyed, respectively.
Hit points can be increased for certain types of units by having a civilization bonus for them. You may also choose to upgrade hit points for individual military units. Citizen hit points may be upgraded at the hospital, while heroes can not be upgraded. Building hit points may be increased via civilization bonus, researching upgrades at the university, or building the Ishtar Gates wonder.
