The Sampson is the first kind of siege unit available to the player, being available from the Stone Age to the Copper Age. The Sampson it a critical unit in the early stagees of the game because it is the first dedicated anti-building unit available, thus making it a powerful unit to use against all kind of buildings, especially Walls and Towers, as Tower attacks are not as effective against it as they are against other units.
